CaptionPicks is a library of short text you can copy and use: captions, quotes, bios, wishes, usernames and symbols. You arrive needing a line. You should leave with one, quickly.
Why the material comes first
Most sites in this category bury twenty usable lines under a thousand words of introduction, because the introduction is what ranks. We put the lines at the top and the explanation underneath, because the explanation is not what you came for. Where we do explain something – when a caption works, what separates a good bio from a bad one – it is because it changes which line you pick.
What is here, and how it is organised
Six sections, each cut a different way, because people arrive looking for different things:
- Social Media Captions – split by vibe (how you want to come across) and by occasion (what you actually did), because those are two different searches.
- Quotes & Sayings – sorted by what you need them for rather than by author.
- Wishes & Greetings – what to write in the card or the message, separated by who it is for.
- Identity & Bios – bio lines, usernames and nicknames, within each platform’s limits.
- Aesthetic Text & Symbols – symbols, emoji and kaomoji, with notes on what renders where.
- Guides & Slang – plain explanations of the words and features that change fastest.
We also keep three reference pages that are not lists at all: character limits by platform, why symbols break, and whether you can actually use a lyric.
Finding the right line quickly
Three routes, and which one is fastest depends on what you already know:
- You know the occasion – a birthday, a graduation, Eid, a first day at work. Start from the occasion category and narrow by who it is for. This is most people, most of the time.
- You know the feeling but not the words – you want to sound dry, or soft, or unbothered. Start from vibe rather than occasion. A savage line and a sentimental line about the same event live in different places here for exactly this reason.
- You have the line and need it to fit – check character limits first. There is no point choosing a 200-character bio line for a platform that stops you at 80.
What makes a caption work
Two things, neither of which is length. The photo should not need the caption and the caption should not describe the photo – if the line just narrates what is already visible, it is doing nothing. And on Instagram, the first 125 characters are the whole caption for most readers, because that is where it collapses behind “more”. A good line that arrives in character 300 was never read.
What we do not do
We do not promise that a caption will make a post perform. Nobody can, and sites that claim it are selling you something. We do not pad a list of forty lines out to a hundred with near-duplicates to look bigger. And we do not invent an author for a quote when we cannot find one.
Who is responsible
CaptionPicks is run and edited by Asim Ashraf, who is accountable for everything published here. If something is wrong, that is the person to tell – see corrections, or read how we choose what goes in.
